Isaiah 60: 19-20 (NRSVA)
19
The sun shall no longer be
your light by day,
nor for brightness shall the moon
give light to you by night;
but the Lord will be your everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory.20
Your sun shall no more go down,
or your moon withdraw itself;
for the Lord will be your everlasting light,
and your days of mourning shall be ended.
Don’t be distracted!
The Sun may govern the activity of the lands, and the moon the tides of water but,
YaHWeH is your “olam” light, your ancient, enduring, from everlasting to everlasting light.
Get that right and, the verses teach us that God will bring you glory, honour.
He will adorn you with beauty and splendour, and you will have rest in your soul, you will be at peace with God.
PRAYER:
YaHWeH
ancient enduring One
Be my light
from everlasting to everlasting
Be my source
Be my guide
My soul finds rest in You
My life is at peace in You
