Psalm 139: 7-14 (NRSVA)

Where can I go from your spirit?
    Or where can I flee from your presence?

If I ascend to heaven, you are there;
    if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.

If I take the wings of the morning
    and settle at the farthest limits of the sea,

10

even there your hand shall lead me,
    and your right hand shall hold me fast.

11

If I say, ‘Surely the darkness shall cover me,
    and the light around me become night’,

12

even the darkness is not dark to you;
    the night is as bright as the day,
    for darkness is as light to you.

13

For it was you who formed my inward parts;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
    Wonderful are your works;
that I know very well.

Throughout the 40 year wilderness journey, the children of Israel were led by God, cloud by day and fire by night. Whenever the cloud rose, the camp would pack up and prepare to travel, firm in the belief that God did not bring them out this far to take them back again. They understood that God brought them out to bring them in to the promised land.

Choosing to follow God, to be guided by Him is always the best decision. God knows you, and God knows where you have been, where you are, and most importantly — where you should be going. He is the God who brings you out to bring you in to His promise.

PRAYER:

Lord, it’s too much — You are the everything, everywhere, all at once God!

But Lord, it’s not too much — You are amazing, too amazing to get my head around.

Lord it’s too much — And I expect nothing less from You!

Lord it’s not too much — I trust you, bring me out to bring me in to Your promise.
