Believing in the Unseen

November 09, 2012 0 0

Hebrews 11: 1 – 2; 8 – 10

Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see.

It was their faith that made our ancestors pleasing to God.

Abraham had faith and obeyed God.

He was told to go to the land that God had said would be his,

and he left for a country he had never seen.

It was their faith that made our ancestors pleasing to God.

That is it, Lord, isn’t it?

Faith is looking forward to Your promise.

We received knowledge of you, in the past,

We trust and believe, in the now,

We have the promise for the future.

For what we are to receive Lord, make us truly thankful.   Jesus you have asked us to believe in you,

However, how can we believe in You, if no one tells of You?

So thank You, Lord, for St Ninian, St Columba, St Aiden,

Thank You for the martyrs drowned in the  Solway Firth,

Along with those burnt at the stake for love of You.   They passed on Your message, Lord.

“It was their faith that made our ancestors pleasing to God.”

Now hear us as we pray

“We believe in Jesus, we want to pass it on.”
