From Dust to Glory

During Lent we have been thinking about dust, ash, particles molecules. We are all made up of a dizzying amount of tiny fragments that somehow form together to make ‘us’. We are a bundle of dust, humility, humanity, arrogance, confidence and wonder… cells memories, longings and dreams and yet we are something more than the sum of our parts.

God takes the dust of what we are - all our baggage, experience, bone and blood and shapes it into something new. God takes the dust of what we waste, damage or sweep away and is able to form it into something new.

If we’re more than dust - what’s next? Easter takes us from introspection into action - how can we be part of building God’s kingdom here and now? Embracing the world while also critiquing it. Standing with those who are beating swords into ploughshares and spears into pruning hooks…
