How often do we get ourselves in a fankle God, anxious to do things right?
How often are we more concerned about how things look than their substance?
How often do we spend time and energy on things that don’t really matter just so we can feel affirmed in our worth?
How often do we hang all manner of things on the shoulders of Jesus who laughs – and weeps over all that occupies our time and distracts us from simply getting on with the work of love?
Lord you are perfect.
You are forever.
Lord we thank you that though you have no need of what we bring, yet you accept our offering, our petitions and our prayers and you scoop them up and present them to God.
May we never lose our desire to please you but show us how to serve you by serving each other until your kingdom come.
24 but because Jesus lives for ever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
