Psalm 22: 24 (NIVUK)

24 For he has not despised or scorned
    the suffering of the afflicted one;
he has not hidden his face from him
    but has listened to his cry for help.

If I believe that Christ died for my sins, for my salvation, then grace is God’s immeasurable love for humankind shown in the incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension of Christ.

Mankind cannot earn salvation – nor do we deserve it!

Grace is God’s voluntary and loving favour given to those who seek his forgiveness.

Importantly, no religious, intellectual or moral effort can gain grace, because grace comes only from God’s mercy and love.

God’s grace makes salvation possible.

To receive it, there must first be an acknowledgement that we cannot save ourselves; that only God can save us; and that the only way to receive this loving favour is through faith in Jesus Christ.

God of grace and mercy
Holy is your Name
You are the beginning and the end
Nothing is more superior than You
I lay before You all that I am and all that I long to be
Come into my life today Lord
Amen.
