John 15: 26-27

26 ‘When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf. 27 You also are to testify because you have been with me from the beginning.

Jesus we see you trying to cram,

trying to cram your disciples full of all the love

and all the assurance

and all the peace that only you can bring.

Gently warning, persistently repeating, patiently explaining

so that, in days to come,

in those awful, fearful times,

they would remember

and be assured

that they were never alone.

Today, we give thanks that your promise extends to us

We are never alone

We are never without a means to peace

Because your spirit dwells in us

and your love drives out fear

So, in these days of uncertainty

cram us full of your Spirit of love and your Spirit of peace

Cram us full of your Spirit this day and always.
