Rhona Cathcart on the borderlands… #DailyWorship

We thank Jane Denniston for her Daily Worship week and we welcome Rhona Cathcart who continues our 'Bordering On...' theme. She works in the beautiful North East of Scotland where a 'fly cup and a fine piece' are always on offer. She’s Canadian and Scottish and knows a bit about what it feels like to belong to more than one place. She’s studied theatre, psychology, English teaching, and divinity, and changed career a few times, but reckons that in ministry she’s finally worked out what she wants to be when she grows up.

The Gift that keeps on Giving

At harvest time we are thankful for the gifts we have received — from the earth, from God, and from one another. We are going to link back to a past Sanctuary First theme Guard the Good and focus on a story Jesus told known as the ‘Parable of the sower’. It’s a punchy, memorable tale with lots to say about agriculture, gifts and grace.

Bordering On… October Discussion Questions online

Bordering On… October Discussion Questions online

Our small group discussion questions for our October theme Bordering On... are now online. The theme explores borders, edges, and horizons. It invites us to consider what is God calling us to do when we find ourselves caught in-between two things. Sometimes the periphery can be a difficult place to be, sometimes it's creative place to be. Sometimes it's both... Is there any way God could be calling you to use your inexperience, or lack of confidence, or unease to discover or do something new?

Borders and Inheritance… Oct + Nov themes online

Borders and Inheritance… Oct + Nov themes online

Our themes for October and November are online. In October we are going to be looking to the horizon, the thresholds, the space in-between in 'Bordering On...' and in November we are going to consider 'An Inheritance of Love' that we are heir to.
