Ezekiel 37: 11-14 (NRSVA)

11 Then he said to me, ‘Mortal, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, “Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are cut off completely.” 12 Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: I am going to open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people; and I will bring you back to the land of Israel. 13 And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people. 14 I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and will act, says the Lord.’

A spine-tingling vision. The Holy Spirit reconnects us to hope as we are transformed from the inside out. This Spirit given hope is utterly game changing.

The vision of the valley of dry bones is explained to Ezekiel. This is what I will do for Israel, it is literally a resurrection moment!

Today is your invitation to resurrection, from deadness to life with the Spirit.

Imagine each of the following biblical concepts in turn:

the morning sunrise
a plant blossoming and blooming before your eyes
a new coat being put on and fitted
an undaunted army storming a castle
increasing wealth
a head being shaved clean - fresh

Prayer:

Now choose the image that resonates with resurrection life for you and imagine it again, as you do welcome the Holy Spirit to come and fill you, to come and dwell in you.

‘Holy Spirit you are welcome here, come and dwell with me, in you I live, in you I move, in you I have my being.’
