Wait…
Listen to this daily worship
James 5: 7-10 (NIVUK)
7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. 8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. 9 Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!
10 Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
Be patient…
Wait…
Dinae fash…
The Lord is coming…
In ploughing,
In furrowing,
In seeding…
Be patient, wait, dinae fash…
Through harsh winter frosts,
Unrelenting spring rains,
Warm summer sun,
And strong autumn gales….
Be patient, wait, dinae fash…
What was planted,
What was begun,
What was birthed,
Will grow…
Be patient, wait, dinae fash…
What was begun will bear fruit…
The bairn came,
The laddie grew,
The man died,
The Lord rose,
And the Lord will come again…
Be patient…
Wait…
Dinae fash!
Help us, Lord.
To be patient in our waiting…
Help us in this in between time…
No matter the season,
Easy like summer, or dark and full of winter struggle,
To not grow weary,
But to be midwives awaiting your arrival…
Watching out for signs,
Waiting with joy to receive you,
And doing all that we can in the meantime to make way for your coming…
Amen.
