Your Gifts to Us

1Corinthians 12:27-31

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts.

Father each of us, who belong to you, have been given a gift or gifts;
According to Your purposes and for Your glory, to build up Your Church.

Sadly some of us don’t recognise the gift you have given us, so how can we use it?

Worse still, some of us used our gift for a while but then tired of it like an unwanted present and cast it aside.
How this must grieve You since You had a plan for us to use our gifting for the benefit of the Church.

To those of us who do not know our gifts;
We hear you say ‘Seek and you will find’.
So we should humbly pray Lord that You will show us our gifting.

To those of us who have cast your gift aside we need to ask for Your forgiveness.
Please give us renewed confidence and determination to be all You meant us to be.

Lord, please encourage us to seek Your enabling gifts.
Gifts specially chosen by You, for each of us Your children, to build Your Church.

Amen.
