Isaiah 60: 5

5 Then you shall see and be radiant;
    your heart shall thrill and rejoice,
because the abundance of the sea shall be brought to you,
    the wealth of the nations shall come to you.

I asked one of my co-workers the other day how he was feeling. His reply was, ‘radiant’, which delighted me - especially as we had all been having our share of ups and downs that week.

Lord, help me to be radiant today

In the darkness, may I radiate light

In the cold, may I radiate warmth

In the midst of pain, may I radiate healing

Where there is hostility and conflict, may I radiate peace

Gift your church with radiance

A brightness that attracts rather than dazzles;

A warmth which thrills and fills the heart with joy,

illuminating generosity and kindness,

nurturing creativity,

offering welcome, shelter, hope, belonging.

Shine through our friendships and our faith,

Our frailties and our fears.

sincere, broken, trusting,

radiant.
