Trusting in that story

John 13:34

A new command I give you: Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

Relaxing into a new a new way of working.
John 13:34. Verse 34; a new commandment; love one another
I work not to earn a reputation or to look good to others, myself or God. I work because I am loved and so have nothing to prove.
I am released to work to an entirely different tune, a different motivation; not driving myself to work through a need to please or find favour, but because I am pleased to have found favour.  I am set free to work with no task master, just a loving master.

Sit quietly.

Sometime today take a few minutes to sit in God’s presence. Make yourself comfortable and breathe deeply being conscious of God’s life giving breath in you. Try not to reason using your mind but allow yourself, your whole being to be held in the embrace of God. Fully accepted as you are, exactly as you are, with nothing to prove, you are loved exactly as you are. Breathe deeply and slowly. There is no hurry. It’s not a waste of time because God is there.

When you are ready go into the day, and breathe out what you have breathed in; grace, mercy, love and acceptance.  Go well.

Prayer:

Lord God, of the universe, of past present and future,
thank you that in you I am free.
Free to be who you made me,
free to be who you love,
free from all expectations other than yours to love and be loved.
Such width and length and height and depth takes my breath away.

Thankyou that in love you have called me
and in love you want me to work,
no longer a servant but as a friend and brother and son.
Teach me to work as you work.

In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
the divine community of which by your grace I am a part.

Amen.
